The compass functions are used frequently with complex slope and dual slope surfaces.
The compass continues to know the surface slope orientations when the machine moves to a different location.
Zero to Laser or Zero to Bucket must be done each time that the excavator makes a position change. This makes sure that the elevation is correct.
If Zero to Compass is done, the complex slope or dual slope surfaces reset the slope orientations in relation to the machine mainfall position.
When a small rotation of the excavator cab is necessary, do Zero to Compass for accurate results. For example, make a straight trench. For optimal performance, do Zero to Compass more frequently.
Note: The TS-i4 IMU sensor can drift if the excavator does not move. Swing the cab repetitively to reduce the TS-i4 IMU drift effect.
