Power definitions
TermDefinition
GroundConnected electrically to the machine’s metal frame or chassis. It operates as the electrical return path. Do not connect directly to the battery negative terminal.
Ignition InputPower is set to on or off by the ignition or key switch.
Switched PowerActive only when the operator starts the ignition or turns the key switch of the machine. This can be seen as an ignition switched power source.
Unswitched PowerDirect connection to machine battery positive terminal. It stays active when the ignition or key switch is off.
Note:
To prevent risk of hardware failure, do not connect any Topcon component directly to the battery negative terminal. You must not bypass the battery isolation switch with a direct connection to the battery positive and negative terminals.
Note:
MC-Mobile configurations use switched power.
