The yellow cable has power when the ignition is on and the machine is running.
To make the ignition switched power connection:
Connect the black ground wire to the frame ground. The frame ground must not have paint, dirt or grease. The frame ground location must be electrically connected to the same location as the battery disconnect frame ground. Some machines have frame components that are isolated. For example, rubber mounted cabs.
Use a fuse or circuit breaker with the applicable rating.
Connect the red positive wire directly to the battery positive or terminal block.
Connect the yellow cable to a power source that is controlled by a switch or ignition key. The machine master disconnect is not thought of as an ignition or key switch. If the power cable does not have a yellow wire, connect the red wire as the switched power connection. It is necessary for the black wire to be connected to ground.
Keep the power cable to a short length.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Caution:
Do not bypass the battery isolation switch. The Topcon system can be damaged if large currents (starter motor) pass through when the battery isolation switch is bypassed.
Always use a frame/chassis ground connection, Do not connect directly to the negative terminal of the battery.
