Sonic Tracker installation

Considerations
  • Total work range of 14 in., to 55 in. (35.56 cm to 139.7 cm) with a total of 41 in. (104.14 cm) of adjustment.
  • The sonic tracker can be set over a string line on one pass, then match grade on the next pass with the tracker in position.
  • The task selects the tracker position.
String line referenceKeep the tracker approximately 2 ft. (60.96 cm) above the string and give the operator approximately 6 in. (15.24 cm) of lateral movement above the string.
Curb referenceLower the tracker to keep it over the lip of the curb and avoid the tracker from “seeing” the top, or face of the curb.
Grade referenceKeep the size of the sonic cone or footprint in mind. For example, at 2 ft. (60.96 cm), the cone diameter is approximately 6 in. (15.24 cm).
  1. Connect the coil cord to the sonic tracker.
  2. Attach the sonic tracker to the bracket and keep the L-Bar and tracker plumb.
  3. Make one warp of the coil cord around the L-Bar to act as a strain relief.
  4. Make sure that the coil cord snap hook is in position and secure.
  5. Put the L-Bar horizontally so the tracker rests over the reference for the job site.
