The forward speed sensor detects wheel rotation. Accurate Speed Sensor Factor (SSF) configuration is necessary, either manually or through Auto Speed Cal, for precise speed and area measurement.
The forward speed sensor operates magnetically operated and senses the land wheel rotation. In order to show the correct speed and accumulate area correctly, the instrument must be configured with the correct Speed Sensor Factor (SSF). This is the distance traveled between two signal pulses in millimeters for one pulse received from the sensor. You can calculate the SSF theoretically, then configure it manually, or you can use the Auto Speed Cal function on the instrument to calculate it automatically. Complete a calibration whenever soil conditions or wheel sizes change.
